POWER INTEGRATIONS NAMES ALAN D. BICKELL TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. - May 28, 1999 -- Power Integrations, Inc. (Nasdaq: POWI - news), a leading supplier of high-voltage analog integrated circuits for use in AC to DC power conversion, today announced that it has named Alan D. Bickell to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Bickell joins the Power Integrations Board of Directors to fill the position created by the departure of Edward C. Ross who has served on the company's Board for 10 years. Mr. Bickell retired in 1996 after more than 30 years with Hewlett Packard, most recently as a corporate senior vice president and managing director of Geographic Operations.

Mr. Bickell's responsibilities at HP included worldwide field administration, consumer support infrastructure and corporate marketing services for the development of HP's international presence. As managing director of Intercontinental Operations, Mr. Bickell was responsible for manufacturing, marketing and sales for Asia, Canada and Latin America.

Mr. Bickell is a member of the U.S National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (USNCPEC) and co-founder and chairman emeritus of the PECC Science and Technology Task Force. He is also a member of the board of directors of Asiainfo Holdings Inc., Junior Achievement International and the Menlo College board of trustees.
