Power Integrations Appoints Chief Financial Officer

SAN JOSE, CALIF. April 9, 2001 -- Power Integrations, Inc. (NASDAQ: POWI), announced today the appointment of John M. Cobb as the company’s chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration. Cobb joins the company with more than 20 years of financial management experience, including 10 years in senior management positions at Quantum Corporation.

"John’s broad and extensive experience will further strengthen our financial organization and help us meet the strategic objectives of the company."

Cobb assumed his first role at Quantum Corporation in 1990 as a controller, moving into positions of increasing responsibility including his most recent position as CFO of the company’s $3.5 billion Hard Disk Drive Group. During his tenure at Quantum, Cobb was instrumental in the company’s efforts to re-engineer the HDDG business and financial model to ensure success in the competitive disk drive business. Prior to joining Quantum, Cobb spent several years with Ernst & Young and Deloitte and Touche.
