Power Integrations Appoints Rick Davies as Vice President of Operations

SUNNYVALE, CALIF. - Aug. 13, 1999 - Power Integrations, Inc. (NASDAQ: POWI), a leading supplier of high-voltage analog integrated circuits for use in AC to DC power conversion, today announced the appointment of Rick Davies as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Davies will be succeeding Clements Edward "Ed" Pausa who will be retiring on August 15, 1999 after forty years in the semiconductor industry.

Mr. Davies comes to Power Integrations from International Rectifier (IR) where most recently he was responsible for two key business units as Senior Vice President of IR's El Segundo Operations. Prior to IR, Mr. Davies spent twelve years with Texas Instruments in key management roles, including profit and loss responsibility for their linear IC product line.

"Rick's unique blend of technical expertise and business savvy will help us meet the rapid growth in demand for our proprietary high-voltage ICs."

Mr. Davies started his semiconductor career as a member of the technical staff at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) where he introduced IC simulation modeling to PARC. He has a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
